Access route
Definition
The access route is the path a van takes from the road to its pitch, including gates, width, height clearance, turns and surfaces along the way.
Getting the van to the pitch is often the trickiest part of the day. The access route needs to be wide and high enough for the vehicle, free of tight turns it cannot make, and firm enough to drive on. Low branches, bollards, narrow gates, archways and kerbs are the usual problems.
Timing matters too. Many venues want vehicles moved before guests arrive, so the van may need to be in place well before service starts. Some sites also have restricted delivery hours. Send us the address, the entrance to use and any width or height limits you know about. If the venue has a delivery contact, share that as well.
